Brunch with Carly of The Good Vibe Media was an absolute treat – and not just because of the delectable goodies brought in from Muse & Market, The Marilyn’s onsite restaurant.

Carly Gilleland has a background in video production with a degree in Film and Media Studies from CSU Long Beach. She’s a passionate story teller who emphasizes the emotional component of production, and who wants to share her knowledge and experiences with others.

With more than twenty “Brunch-ers” in attendance, with backgrounds ranging from Jewelry Artisans to Human Resource team-members, Carly walked her audience through the basics of video production with an emphasis on story telling. Audience members were encouraged to participate by sharing their stories with one another, and afterwards one audience member shared their story as Carly illustrated how to use a story board to organize ideas and visualize how the production might come together.

Carly also provided insights on important things to consider prior to video production, such as legal permits, release forms, and weather. She talked about how to work with the light in a space as well as what type of equipment is necessary to get started and to produce different types of video.

Most importantly, Carly encouraged attendees to dive in and try something new every week.

The goal of Brunch is to inspire one another while gaining new tools to enhance professional growth, and Carly provided just that.
